Tip of the Day: Stainless Cookware

Tip of the Day:

Skillets;   Buy yourself some Stainless Steel skillets and saucepans.  They are typically pretty expensive,  but you can find them on sale for quite reasonable.   Get the kind with the plain metal handle so you can pop them into the oven if need be (if you were making Shrimp Scampi or the such).   The only drawback to these pans is that you have to use a hand towel to touch the handles.

Forget those teflon (black coated) coated skillets for a few reasons.

#1.   They can be toxic (the ingredients used to produce teflon are carcinogenic).

#2.   If you accidently use metal utensils, they will scratch the coating, destroying it.

#3.   If the pan gets too hot it will melt the teflon coating, destroying it.

# 4.   Stainless Steel just looks better anyway!
