Tip of the Day: Thickening Agents

Tip of the Day:

If you’re cooking a sauce (as in chinese, or gravy, etc) and need to thicken it up;  just add a Tablespoon or so of Corn Starch to a cup of ice water.  Mix well (even right before you add it to the mix) because it will not disolve much in the water, and stir it into your sauce while it’s cooking.   Simmer.   It won’t thicken up immediately, but it will after about 5-10 minutes.
