This recipe is from “The Joy of Cooking”, a book that should be in EVERY kitchen!  It looks pretty darn good, so i hope it’s okay to reprint it.

According to Irma Rombauer, This rich and delicious drink has a history with the British Royal Navy, meant to keep men on night duty nourished as well as wide awake.

Since winter is upon us, I think this is a fitting recipe.. (Then again, maybe this is one of those things you’d have to be British to like)

Place 1/4 cup Half and Half or heavy cream in a large mug and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds on high.

Meanwhile, mix together in a small bowl:

1 tbsp Sugar

2 tbsp Malted Milk Powder

1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Remove the cream from the ‘wave and add the cocoa mixture, stirring constantly for about 30 seconds, until the cocoa and sugar are dissolved.

Add (Stirring well):  3/4 cup hot strong coffee
