Tip of the Day: Stocks

Save clean carrot scrapings, celery leaves, outer onion layers, vegetable peels and freeze them in a ziploc bag. When you have a ham, chicken, or beef bone, throw everything in a pot to make a nice homemade soup stock.

I boiled some chicken thighs for a recipe not too long ago and saved the stock in my freezer.  When I was pouring it in the jars, I really thought “BOY!  that’s a really beautiful chicken stock!”

I know, sounds gay, but I was really proud of it.
