Home-Made Crutons

I’m gonna do something different today.  Typically, we do main dishes.  Today, however, I’m going to tell you how to make your own home-made Crutons.  You may say “Home-Made Crutons (YAWN)!?”.  But I asure you, they are fun to make as well as tasty and aromatic.

Recipe of the Day:

Home-Made Crutons

6 (or so) slices of wheat bread or any leftover bread

1 1/2 Cups Melted butter

4 Garlic Cloves, peeled

1/2  of a bunch of Cilantro

2 tsp pepper

Take your bread and lay them out end to end.  With a pizza cutter, slice the bread into cubes.  Spread the cubes out on a cookie sheet.

In a blender, add the butter, garlic, cilantro, and pepper and nearly liquify it.

Sprinkle butter blend over the bread cubes.  Insert cookie sheet into oven that has been pre-heated to 275 F.

It’s been awhile since I’ve made these, so I can’t remember how long to cook them. You should keep an eye on it.  You want them dried but not burnt.

By the way, try not to eat them right out of the oven.  It’s tempting, I know!

P.S.  If you wanna get experimental about it, try sprinkling with Zesty Italian dressing instead of the garlic butter, or maybe some sort of vinegarette.
